HPLC / UHPLC Analysis
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Ultra-High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) are the workhorse separation techniques used to identify and quantify compounds in a liquid sample by passing them, under pressure, through a column and detector.
LC-MS Analysis
Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) couples an HPLC-style separation to a mass spectrometer detector, and is the standard technique for trace-level, high-specificity analysis in pharmaceutical bioanalysis, environmental trace/PFAS testing, food safety and life-science research. Because the mass spectrometer is exquisitely sensitive to background contamination, LC-MS has its own, stricter consumables requirements than general HPLC.
GC / Headspace-GC Analysis
Gas Chromatography (GC), including headspace-GC, separates volatile and semi-volatile compounds by vaporising the sample and carrying it through a column in a gas stream. Headspace-GC specifically samples the vapour above a heated liquid or solid sample, and is common for residual solvent testing, flavour/fragrance analysis, and volatile environmental contaminants.
